Patrick Canning

Patrick Canning is a lawyer who practices on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast in BC. His love of nature and of justice have led him to focus his practice on environmental law, First Nations law, and aboriginal criminal law. He also has experience with climate change litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, and mining and forestry law. Patrick’s diplomacy and dispute resolution skills have led him to successfully help many clients resolve their legal issues out of court. He has also represented clients at commercial arbitration, as well as at various levels of court. When he’s not practicing law, Patrick has volunteered as a board member for several environmental organizations. Before law school, Patrick worked as a forest technician.
