At People’s Law School, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new website, Unbundled Legal Services. This website helps the public understand “unbundling,” a new service model for law in British Columbia.
With unbundling, instead of hiring a lawyer to handle their entire case, a person can hire a lawyer to handle certain parts for a fee. The client takes care of the rest. The result — the client can get just the advice and services they need and pay a more affordable fee.
Unbundling is particularly well suited to family law. Close to 150 BC family lawyers have registered to be listed in a directory of lawyers who provide unbundled legal services today.
To learn more about unbundled legal services, visit unbundlinglaw.ca. The site features clean design, plain language, and practical tips to help people make well-informed decisions about their legal needs and goals.
Interested in helping us spread the word about this new service model? You can:
- Order our free Unbundled Legal Services pamphlet. Like the website, this pamphlet explains the basics of unbundled services.
- Embed this page explaining unbundled legal services on your own website. (Not sure what embedding involves? We explain how to embed a page.)
We’re delighted to be part of a growing network supporting affordable, accessible justice for British Columbians.
