Keeping an open dialogue with your employer is crucial at this time. It seems you’re aware they are going through a tough spot (many are!). They may not have the money to pay for your parking, and, unless it's in your employment contract, you typically wouldn't be entitled to this under our laws.
Try to come to a compromise. Perhaps you can ask them to split your parking fees or other transportation expenses. Or maybe you can agree to extra paid time off at a later date that equals the amount you have to pay extra for parking.
