First off, you won’t necessarily be disqualified from government emergency benefits if you continue working. If you’re earning $1,000 per month or less, you’ll still be eligible for the Canada emergency response benefit (assuming you meet the other criteria). And if you receive the CERB benefit, you’ll be eligible to receive the provincial emergency benefit for workers on top of that.
If your job hours have been cut significantly (figure by at least 20%), this could be considered constructive dismissal. This is the equivalent of being laid off, which means you could be eligible for the CERB and provincial emergency benefit.
