Our Funders

We are grateful for the generosity of our funders who support us and our key initiatives that advance access to justice for British Columbians.

Our key funders and supporters

The Law Foundation of British Columbia's generous core funding supports the continued operation of People’s Law School and allows us to develop and deliver public legal education and information to meet the needs of British Columbians. A special project grant from the Law Foundation of BC enabled us to create this website.

The Department of Justice Canada's annual funding enables us to develop and distribute print booklets on everyday legal problems to British Columbians. This funding also enables our Justice Theatre program to present interactive dramatic performances and public forums in classrooms and community settings throughout British Columbia.

Financial assistance from the Province of British Columbia supports our Justice Theatre program, helping to bring education on the law to students and the public. It also contributes to the production of our print booklets and our ability to distribute them through all areas of the province.

The City of Vancouver generously provides People’s Law School with office space, a classroom and a public reading room in downtown Vancouver. This support enables us to deliver free legal education classes to the public, as well as support other not-for-profit organizations with their need for event space and offices.

Generous support from the BC Notary Foundation over the years has been invaluable to the production of our print booklets, as well as in supporting our efforts to distribute printed materials through all areas of the province of British Columbia.

A Law Foundation of Ontario grant from its Access to Justice Fund supported our Justice Theatre program in delivering restorative justice programming. Through this support, students and others in communities throughout British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories learned about restorative justice as a way to address harm and support healing.
